Last week, Forsberg enjoyed a successful couple of days at the Defence Vehicle Dynamics (DVD) exhibition at UTAC Millbrook, Bedfordshire. The event is focused on enabling engagement between Defence industry, DE&S Delivery Teams, Army HQ staff and other Defence community users of Land Equipment, and we were invited to exhibit both MANTIS and our Fused Target Locator system on the MOD’s Soldier, Training and Special Projects (STSP) stand in addition to our own booth.
The team showcased the solution through the delivery of a remote demonstration, almost 100km away. Using FTL, combined with an MPU5 radio and its cloud relay functionality, a secure connection was established between an FTL system at the remote location and an End User Device at DVD over a 4G network. This enabled the FTL system to be controlled fully remotely over a large distance through a live video feed and observed from the MOD STSP stand.
MANTIS and the FTL System generated lots of interest on the STSP stand and, amongst a wealth of visitors, we welcomed the Minister of State for Defence Procurement, Jeremy Quinn MP, to the demonstration area. On the Forsberg stand, we were delighted to host Major General James Bowder from Army Futures. This new Directorate in Army Headquarters serves as the Army’s engine for research, experimentation and innovation and we welcomed the opportunity to discuss our company, situational awareness capabilities and GAJT Anti-Jam technology.
Overall, it was a fantastic couple of days and we welcomed the opportunity to liaise with partners, government and military personnel in demonstrating and showcasing our current and future capabilities.
