National Apprenticeship Week 2024 - Business Compliances Officer at Forsberg

National Apprenticeship Week (NAW) 2024 is an opportunity for us to celebrate the value, benefit and opportunity apprenticeships bring to our company and our employees.

The theme for NAW 2024 is “Skills for Life” so we’re taking this opportunity to celebrate our Business Compliance Officer, Amanda who has recently graduated her apprenticeship and to highlight how she has developed her skills and knowledge required for success.

Amanda has successfully completed her Level 4 Regulatory Compliance Qualification! Beginning her apprenticeship journey in October 2022 she completed the course early due to her steadfast commitment to her learning. The apprenticeship included a range of modules designed to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to perform, monitor, and support key regulatory compliance activities within our company sector.

What’s next for Amanda?

Amanda has caught the further education bug! She admits that getting back into the swing of learning was a challenge at first, but now she doesn’t want to get out of the flow, she loves learning, and it helps that she finds the subject matter so interesting.

After completing her level 4 qualification, Amanda’s goal was to embark on the Level 5 accreditation but as a proportion of the content isn’t relevant to her current role and already having the applicable knowledge now under her belt, she has a new ambition. Amanda is researching and pursuing corporate governance training, followed by a people management course in the future.

The Value, Benefit & Opportunity Apprenticeships bring.

Amanda has added great benefit to the company already by improving structures and initiating a compliance induction into the induction process at Forsberg for all new starters to increase compliance awareness across the company.

As compliance is an everchanging environment, there is aways room to learn and improve. Amanda is constantly challenged by new laws and information, but her new qualification and experience supports this and has grown her confidence in her role.

“My knowledge has grown vastly. I am working hard to raise compliance awareness across the company and implementing better structures across the departments, working closely with the individual line managers with whom I’m able to offer support.”

Amanda is an advocate for apprenticeships and would encourage anyone considering an apprenticeship to go for it!

“My apprenticeship has been a great way for me to contribute positive change to Forsberg whilst growing my professional and personal skills. It has helped to relieve challenges within my role whilst offering support through course work being applied to real life work projects.”

Amanda has seen a significant growth in her confidence and expertise, both in her professional and personal skills. Overcoming challenges in public speaking and verbal exams has been a barrier she has successfully overcome, resulting in a great sense of pride.

How have Forsberg continued to support you?

“Forsberg have continued to provide unwavering support throughout my apprenticeship, including support for my study time and championing my development. Chris (Managing Director of Forsberg) has been especially supportive, always making time to offer advice, encouragement and assistance with my final assignments. His ongoing support has been truly inspiring!”

Forsberg takes pride in having supported Amanda throughout her apprenticeship and remain dedicated to assisting her future learning and career development.
