We are delighted to share that we have recently been awarded Highly Commended Employer status from Preston’s College, for providing exemplary support to their young learners. For the past 3 years, we have been supporting Preston’s College alongside the Government in trialling and supporting the new ‘T-Level initiative’ by offering work experience placements, enabling students to complete this qualification and have gone on to convert two of the placements into long term apprenticeship opportunities within our organisation.
“Their support has been exemplary for the college and it has provided a platform to build on whilst providing local talent the opportunity to grow and nurture their skills whilst studying a full-time course. During the trial period Forsberg have led the way in the Engineering sector, over-coming work placement practices and barriers to ensure our students were provided with the best support and opportunities to learn new practical skills.”
Steven Jones, Apprenticeship Training Support Officer at Preston’s College.
We look forward to offering further support to Preston’s college and their students and are excited to see future developments of the T-Level initiative.

Forsberg has witnessed significant change in recent months as the company prepares for future success; a rebrand, an office relocation and now exciting changes in leadership. Charles Forsberg is stepping down from his position as Managing Director and handing over the position to his heir apparent Chris Mayne, previously Operations Director.
Charles established the company name in 1987 acting as Managing Director of a steadily developing and changing navigation business. He has driven the company from a small consultancy to a navigation engineering company, currently employing 41 people with exciting growth plans for the future. Charles remains majority owner and will continue to play a significant role in the business, acting as Chief Technical Officer. This will enable Charles to focus his passion and engineering expertise in driving innovation with the business.
Chris has worked for Forsberg for 16 years, fulfilling the role of Operations Director for 7 years. He began his Forsberg career as an Engineering Assistant and subsequently drove his career and expertise whilst working across all facets of the business. Chris recently completed an MA in Management and Leadership at Lancaster University, this, along with his extensive knowledge of the company and operations, made him the natural choice to lead Forsberg into the 2020s.
“Chris has been working alongside me for many years, during recent years inheriting many aspects of the Managing Director role. This has enabled me to focus on strategic opportunities. Chris’ passion and dedication to the company is unrivalled. His excellent customer and industry knowledge, combined with academic accomplishments in business management, made him the undisputed choice.”
Charles Forsberg FRIN – Owner/Chief Technical Officer, Forsberg Services Ltd
We wish Chris and Charles every success in their new roles and are excited for the future of Forsberg.

The National Aerospace Technology Exploitation Programme (NATEP) showcase was conducted at the University of Central Lancashire’s Engineering Innovation Centre this week.
The showcase celebrated successes achieved by SME organisations within the programme and provided a forum for companies working on NATEP projects to present their ideas.
Our Operations Director, Chris Mayne, presented on the successes of our Jammer Locator development project, which is focused on identifying and locating sources of GNSS interference or jamming that present a threat to civil and military operations.
This project is an example of Forsberg’s expertise in the provision of Position, Navigation and Timing through GNSS and the protection of GNSS availability in circumstances in which jamming occurs.

As part of our ongoing evolution and the upcoming office move, we felt it was the right time to update our branding to a fresh and modern new design to better reflect us as a company. Our new tagline ‘Positioning, Navigation, Timing’ simply states what we do and better summarises our strengths and capabilities.
To create the new logo, we carefully selected and combined imagery representative of the different areas of our industry to construct a logo that perfectly portrays the work we do in positioning, navigation, timing, mapping, connectivity and innovative engineering.
The diagram below shows the imagery individually and what each one represents. The new Forsberg logo is a combination of each of these elements, the final image representing our specialist areas within the industry.
Our tagline ‘Positioning, Navigation, Timing’ known within the industry as ‘PNT’ will be used in our new website domain, email addresses and social media handles.

Our Forsberg team ‘DUCs on the Water’ braved the rain and donned duck themed attire to compete in the annual NWL Chamber of Commerce Dragon Boat Challenge on Preston docks.
In the first heat, ‘DUCs on the water’ got the fastest time of the day so far and continued on their winning streak throughout the rest of the heats, taking us through to the final.
Our team rowed their way to a cool 4th place! We may have come home without a medal but a great day was had by all and most importantly, no one fell in! Go team!!
