Wayne joined the Army in 1988, his parents both serving soldiers, it became a family tradition to serve. Within the Army he reached the Rank of Sergeant, becoming a Joint Fires Teams Manager, leading teams of Joint Fires in Peace Keeping and War Fighting. He served as a Depot Instructor/Staff Sergeant, training new recruits to become soldiers and went on to be promoted to Warrant Officer Class 2 and responsible for a Battery of soldiers of up to 120. After 4 years he was promoted to Warrant Officer Class 1 Regiment Sergeant Major where he served for 2 years.

Since completing his service to the Armed Forces, Wayne has gained valuable experience working within a range of industries including Engineering, Subsea and Logistics, fulfilling managerial and training roles within a variety of positions.

His time in the Army has ensured he is well travelled, serving all over the world in places such as Germany, Cyprus, Canada, Bosnia, Iraq, Northern Ireland and the UK but has recently gravitated back to his hometown of Middlesbrough, where he lives now with his wife Tracey and their three children. Wayne will continue to be based in Middlesbrough and plans to visit the Heysham office regularly.

Outside of work, Wayne is a long-standing Middlesbrough FC fan and season ticket holder, making sure he doesn’t miss a match. He used to be a keen football and rugby player and enjoys watching Rugby Union too. Wayne also likes to go cycling and fishing in his spare time.
